Heritage Star Trek #1618 - Phylosians

Manufacturer: Heritage Models, Inc.

Set #: 1618 - Phylosians "Plant Men"

Scale: 25mm

Year: 1978

MSRP: $2.95

Notes: Another set of 4 oversized figures with an identical pose. Each figure has "ⓒ1978 PPC" (Paramount Pictures Corporation) etched on the base.

The Phylosians of Phylos made two appearances in Star Trek The Animated Series, first in "The Infinite Vulcan" in October of 1973, and a month later as part of the Elysian Council in "The Time Trap".

It just occurred to me that there was a giant Spock clone in "The Infinite Vulcan". I could always use the 54mm Spock for that.

By the way, there's actually a pack of Phylosians up for auction on eBay this week.

Below is a close-up of a Phylosian next to Kirk for comparison.

  1. OMG!(With the 'G' standing for Gorn) these are so freakin' cool. I have never seen these before. Too awesome. I always have one player who plays the Token Bizarre Star Trek Alien and he'd love a Phylosian.

BTW, MegaMiniatures seems to have a generic TOS looking 'Bridge Crew' set of figures coming out soon or maybe already out. Definitely worth a look as well.

  2. that Phylosian looks like something from Call of Cthulhu. we need more weird alien figs like that.

and those MegaMiniatures have miniskirts and eveything. lol. on a similar note, Victory Force Miniatures makes generic TNG looking "Spacefarers", including alien crewmembers.

  3. I have (and really like) the MegaMinis, and will have something on them soon. Their little bridge pieces and even their alien rocks are very TOS, very cool sculpts. See the link to the left (MegaMiniatures 25mm SF Explorers). I like the VFs as well, need to get some to expand my TNG possibilities. OOrrrrr, I could just paint the dozens I already have!
